I'm beginning to think that it was junior high pranksters. We live a couple of blocks from the school and groups of kids are past here everyday around 2:30, which is when I think it was stolen. My hope is that it was taken by someone who supports Obama and will put the sign to good use.
On the other hand, my Kerry sign disappeared in 2004 just before election day.
I was in Saint Louis two weeks ago, doing an art show that is situated in an historic neighborhood. One family living along the street of the fair had assembled all the materials to make your own Obama yard sign: poster board, paint, stencils, etc. It was a fabulous idea and representative of the strong ground game the Obama campaign has run in this election.

not much of a sea of anything but county board candidates. It's all local here. A few McCain Palin signs, and even fewer Obama/Biden.
I'll not get another: instead made a donation to the campaign.
And then vote in 18 days.
We've had a rash of "swapping". Folks who went to bed with OBAMA/BIDEN on the front lawn woke up with MCCAIN/PALIN signs, and, vice versa.
Interestingly, it has fostered trades, discussions and interaction between neighbors who would not have done so in the past.

I've already voted--a week ago! Early voting is a good thing...except that now I want the rest of you to get on with it and get it over with.
